Obituary

Alexander (Alex) Walker Forsyth was raised on a farm near Frobisher, Saskatchewan. In 1952, Alex went to work for CN Rail in various locations in Saskatchewan and Alberta before settling in Viking. He met Elizabeth (Liz) Megyes and in 1958 they were married. Alex and Liz were later blessed with 4 children: Christina, Bob, Marilyn and Sandra. Alex worked for Northwestern Utilities Ltd. at the Viking Gas Plant for 35 years until his "retirement" in 1994. After retirement, he continued his strong work ethic and enjoyed helping others with bookkeeping and accounting-related jobs. Outside of work, Alex enjoyed spending time with his children and family get-togethers and took great pleasure in coffee-time and telephone chats with friends and family. Alex was an avid reader, had a keen interest in automotive mechanics and baking his special cookies. He was also a member of parish council and belonged to Knights of Columbus for numerous years. Alex was a loving husband, a wonderful dad and loved teasing and playing with his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made a lasting impression with everyone he met, had the greatest smile and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
