Alexander Elmer Thomson passed away peacefully with his family around him at Viking, Alberta, on Sunday December 18, 2016, at the age of 98 years. Elmer leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years Mabel (Vincett), daughter Betty, and son Alan ( Amanda Pedel) and her children Mitchell, Cindel, and Casey. Nieces Pat (Eric) Erickson and Beth (Jeff) Lamour and families. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Anna, sisters Elle and Estella, niece Sandra Dupuis and his son in law Donald.
Burial will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Golden Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Viking, Alberta. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Golden Valley Lutheran Church, Viking, Alberta with Pastor Alvin Sorenson officiating. Donations may be made to the Golden Valley Lutheran Church, Box 72, Viking, Alberta T0B4N0.
The family would like to thank the Viking Extendicare staff who were an important part of Elmer's life in the last 12 years.
