Resided Vialta Lodge, Viking,
Ann went home to live with her Lord February 11, 2023 at the age of 95.
Ann was number 6 of 10 children born to Wieger and Sietske Hoekstra in Holland. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Ann came to Canada nearly 2 years after her betrothed emigrated here. Ann married Jacob (Jaap) Veenstra June 22nd, 1950. The union produced two children. A daughter, Catherina, was born in 1951; and a son, Keimpe, followed in 1952.
Ann was very active in her church and community and enjoyed her later years in Vialta Lodge.
She will be dearly missed by her children, (Catherina and Jim, and daughter-in- law, Maridell), as well as her 4 grandchildren and their spouses (Karyn and Bruce; Matt and Anna;
Scott and Sherry; and Rebecca and Heath) as well as 4 great grandchildren (Cooper, Brooke, Lindsay and Zoey)
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Viking Alliance Church, Viking, Alberta with Pastor Steven TeVelde officiating. A Private Family interment will take place following the service at the Viking Cemetery, Viking, Alberta.
