With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear father and friend, Brian Siddall, in the early hours of May 6th, 2025, in the quiet town of Viking, Alberta — the place he chose as his final home. After a brave journey with cancer, Sid passed peacefully in the tender care of the staff at Viking Health Centre.

Sid was a man of immense kindness, sharp wit, and boundless curiosity. His warmth touched so many, far and wide. Those who knew him will remember his quick laugh, his thoughtful words, and his unwavering support for anyone daring to dream. In Vancouver, he was a familiar face on the Salsa dance floor, at beach volleyball courts, and at community events — Sid had a way of making every gathering brighter just by showing up.

His life was a colorful tapestry of experiences. In the 1970s, he ran an afterhours club and dipped his toes into local politics in London, Ontario, while working nights at a Holiday Inn. He later joined an ashram outside Regina, where he spent six meaningful years that shaped the course of his life. His devotion to Prem Rawat and the peace it brought him stayed with him to the very end.

A passionate entrepreneur, Sid built a candy business in Vancouver and served as president of the Gastown BIA. He went on to create a nutrition bar company in Coquitlam, developing products for over 80 companies, earning NBA licensing and accolades in the food industry. He had an endless fascination with marketing, science, and technology. In his later years, he found serenity on a little acreage near Kamloops, BC, where he proudly grew over 1,000 heads of Russian Red garlic.

In 2024, Sid moved to Viking to be closer to his beloved son Evan and grandsons Axel and Tate. Though his time with them was heartbreakingly short, he cherished every precious moment. We grieve the years lost, but hold tight to the love that will remain with us always.

Before he left us, Sid shared these words to be remembered by:

& quote; Living life generates issues. Resolving them is living life. Having peace is the blessing I've enjoyed from the choices I've made I pass away having a heart full of gratitude for sharing my life with you.& quote;

Sid leaves behind his son Evan (Tana), Manon, and his adored grandsons, Axel and Tate.
