David Harold Taylor, 65, of Viking, Alberta, passed away on September 12, 2024, after a brave battle with illness.

"Dave" was born on January 6, 1959, to Margaret and Allan Taylor in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was one of five children: Mike, Rick, Tim and Carolyn. Dave attended Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron, Ontario. With Judy, Dave was the father of Darien (Jenn) and Sydney Rose (Shawn), with grandchildren Luke, Eli, Kylie, Makayla, Penny, Max and Logan, all of Sudbury, Ontario.

Dave was a gifted graphic artist and photographer who enjoyed working in the promotional design industry. His designs and artwork can be found in various communities and facilities. An inspired cook, Dave loved to share his successful recipes with family. His unique sense of humour both surprised and delighted all who knew him. In recent years, Dave worked in construction before opting to join the indoor (and warmer) world of retail. He will be sadly missed, and remembered with love, by friends, family, life partner Lorrie Olenik and loyal blue merles, Smokey and Coal.

The family wishes to thank the wonderfully caring staff of the Viking Health Centre and the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton who aided and comforted Dave in his last days, and RoseMae Kjelland and team at Viking Funeral Services Ltd. for their arrangements.
