Doris Arnett passed away at the Viking hospital August 17, 2026 at the age of 96.

She will be missed and remembered by her family, Barry (Rosemary), Russell, Brent (Trudy), Karen, Curtis (Anne), as well as her grandchildren & great-grand children.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Shenfield, her mother & father Nettie & Delbert McFadden, her siblings Marjorie (Frankie) McLaughlin, Audrey (Bob) Holden, Shirley MacDonald, Buster (Lloyd) McFadden, her in-laws Hector & Lillian Arnett, Margaret & Bill Eyben, brother-in-law Wes Arnett and granddaughter Amelia Arnett.

She came to Viking in her early 20’s to work & train as a nursing aide in the Viking Hospital and never left. Through the years while raising her family she also worked at the Viking Sears/Fabric Store, Macleod’s Hardware and Extendicare. She was active in Royal Purple & W.I., also volunteering at the New to You as well as in the community. She lived her life with honesty, integrity & kindness.

May she rest in peace. You were an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and loyal friend to all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Viking Health Centre.

A service will be held in memory of Doris at Golden Valley Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM. A livestream of the service will be available through the Golden Valley Lutheran Church Facebook page.
