Winnie passed away on February 29th having just passed her 96th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband, Karl, two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter. She is survived by her children Gloria (Allan), Joan (Maynard), and Rick (Jeannette). Her sister Tilly also survives her. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, enjoyed many nieces and nephews, and had acquired seven great grandchildren by the time of her passing.

Out of respect for Mom's long-standing wishes, and promises made to her, there will be no service. Those of you who knew Mom well will know that her life revolved around the farm, and that she loved to have her many friends and relatives stop in for coffee and goodies, and, in the summer, go away with something from her garden. Perhaps when you next sit down with a cup of coffee or tea and a cookie, you might smile and think of Mom. She would love that!

Cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be spread, again at her request, at the farm. We would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for their care and attention to Mom. We would also like to thank Annette Allen for always being there for Mom and for us.
