GOLKA, Ernie (Emil Ernest)
1926-2016

Friend, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, musician and gentleman.
In the sunshine-filled afternoon of September 6, 2016, Ernie Golka gently passed away at the age of 90 years.
He is survived by his children; Ellen (A. James), Kenneth, Daniel (Barbara), Laurie (Lana), seven grand-children; Jacob, Kurtis (Kerri), Julia, Larissa, Jordan, Kathleen and Tyler, and three great-grandchildren; Kayden, Kooper and Lauryn, one brother, John (Koreen) and many relatives and friends. Ernie was predeceased by his wife Kathleen, his daughter Carolyn and her husband Joe.

Well known and appreciated for his many musical talents, Ernie as part of the Dynamic Duo, regularly entertained Choice participants and staff. At Grace Manor, Ernie played church hymns most Saturday mornings in the chapel and loved performing with the Elderberries. Ernie cherished moments with his family and was truly beloved.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Capital Care CHOICE Dickinsfield and at Grace Manor, as well as Ernie's longtime caregivers – all integral parts of "TEAM ERNIE". Their care and compassion to Ernie and his family in his final days was above and beyond.
In accordance with Ernie's wishes there will be no funeral.
