Ian Morris
Erickson
d. Jun 3, 2020
Viking
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Ian Morris Erickson.
Ian is survived by his wife Sandy, his sons: Andrew, Hayden, Carter (Kaitlin), Liam, his parents Morris and Paulette Erickson, his sister Trudy Josephison (Murray Josephison), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ian enjoyed his family alongside his wife Sandy of 32 years. They were actively involved in their community and throughout the world. Hiking was a passion for the couple (and for most of the family... Liam, the youngest, went along being reminded that the slowest one up the mountain was the bear bait). Ian enthusiastically enjoyed planning our next adventures and looked after all the details, and he offered us choices to bring us into his excitement. Whether to the mountains or exploring the beautiful national parks throughout the world, there would always be treasured memories. Sports in all forms, whether playing them with others, coaching or watching them being played was a huge interest of Ian's. Friends of the boys having fun and tossing the ball around or watching the game with Ian was a constant scene at the Erickson home. As a very successful business man, coach, father, and volunteer with Mission to Many and Golden Valley Lutheran Church, his family and extended family from these groups brought him great joy and he was always interested in how others were doing and what he could do to help. Ian's heart for children and building relationships made him the best husband, Dad, son, uncle, friend, coach, volunteer and advisor anyone could ask for.
There will be a Private service to honor his life at the Golden Valley Lutheran Church, Viking, Alberta, T0B 4N0, Friday, June 12, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Alvin Sorenson officiating.
