Jacob (Known as Jim) Veensta was born in the Netherlands on September 28, 1928, passed away on December 21, 2017 at Viking, Alberta. He was the 2nd of 6 children born to Keimpe and Sietska Veenstra of Tietjerk, Netherlands.

Jacob leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Anne (Antje) Veenstra , (67 years of marriage), his daughter Catherina and son Keimpe (Jim) and Maridell Veenstra: 4 grandchildren, Karyn (Bruce) Preston, Matt (Anna) Veenstra, Scott (Sherry) Veenstra, and Rebecca Veenstra (Heath Carlson): and 4 Great grandchildren: Cooper, Brooke, Lindsay and Zoey. His siblings: Brother Jetse, Sisters, Griet and Jetske in the Netherlands.

He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers and numerous other relatives and infant grandson Jack Mason in May of this year.

A Celebration of Jacob's (Jim's) life will be held at the Viking Alliance Church, Viking, Alberta on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Darren Anderson officiating.
Interment will be at the Viking Cemetery, Viking, Alberta.
