Lois Ann Child of Viking, Alberta passed away on September 28, 2020 at the age of 89 years. Lois was born April 14, 1931 at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton, AB. Lois was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph in 2001, her son Gary in 1973 and daughter Karen in 1956. Lois was also predeceased by her brother Ross Heatherington and sisters Nora and Doris. She grew up in Edmonton and attended the John A. McDougall and McCauley schools. She completed Commercial High and obtained a job at the Royal Bank, main branch and continued there for five years. Lois and Ralph married in June, 1953 and moved to Viking in 1955. They became very involved in the community which included the scouting movement in which Lois was known as Baloo. Lois took a position at the Viking Hospital in 1959 as an admitting clerk and continued there until she retired in April, 1989 as Director of Finance. She loved the countless travel adventures with Ralph before and after their retirement from farming in 1991.She will be remembered by many as will her generosity to the Viking community.
