Loraine June Culbert nee Lancaster passed away on the morning of July 11 2026 in the Killam Health Centre, at the age of 83 after a lengthy illness. Loraine was born in Viking AB, on June 22nd 1943. She was the second of 6 kids and grew up on the family farm SW of Kinsella AB. After attending elementary in the Overleigh Country School, she completed her formal education in Kinsella. She married Ron Culbert in March of 1964. Loraine and Ron moved to Kinsella in 1967 and raised their kids there. In 2019 she left Kinsella and moved to Sedgewick for a few years before moving into Vialta Lodge in 2024.

Loraine was a hard worker all of her life and was an avid gardener and seamstress.  She loved to create and acquired skills as needed to meet her needs. She was seemingly capable of building or creating anything she put her mind to and tried to instill the same skills and drive in her kids and grandkids.

Loraine accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour in the 1980s and looked forward to spending eternity with him, freed from the pain she had been afflicted with for many years.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members and friends.

Sisters-in-Law Lillian Serson, Karen Graham (Darrell), and Brother-In-Law, Jim Culbert (Freda)

Numerous much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Numerous friends and neighbour's past and present.

She was predeceased by her husband Ronald Culbert in 2013, by her parents Violet Lancaster in 2023 and Gordon Lancaster 1982, her sister Harriet Newby 2021, her brothers-in-law Eric Serson 2025, James Newby 1987, her niece Lenora Piwowar 2017, and her dear friend Elaine Newby just a few weeks ago.

Funeral Services will be held in the Kinsella Community Centre on July 20 2026 at 2:00 PM. Internment at Kinsella Cemetery to follow. Pastor Jeremiah Basuric Officiating.
