Nellie Angela Golka
September 19, 1922 – May 18, 2017
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing into glory and into Jesus's waiting arms, of our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Nellie Golka, on May 18, 2017 at age of 94 years.
She will be lovingly be remembered by her children, Marie (Fred), Richard, David (Valerie), Christine (Wayne), and Patricia, 14 Grand Children, 18 Great Grand Children many nieces, nephews, friends and sisters in law- Olga Chomik, Charlotte Golka, Koreen Golka and brother in law – John Golka.
Nellie was the last remaining descendant of Alex and Sophie Chomik. She was predeceased by her husband, Chris, son Bernie, and Grandson Chad as well as her seven brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care given by all the management and staff at Viking Extended Care, including her doctors, nurses, care aids, and special friend, Charlene. We are so very grateful and thankful for all the love, care and attention Mom received over the past three years.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Holy Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Viking, Alberta, with Father Lau Vu as the Celebrant. Committal to follow at the Prague Cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Viking Community Hall, Viking, Alberta
