Wenstob, Norman O.

May 14, 1947 - November 28, 2021

Norman passed away November 28, 2021 at the age of 74. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Dianne; sons, Doug (Tara) and Allan (Amy); grandchildren, Cassie, Haylee, Jayce and Cole; sister, Jean; his Aunt Norma; sister-in-laws Carol, Pat (Fred) and Maureen; and many cousins, friends and neighbours.

Norman was born in Viking on May 14, 1947 to Oscar and Esther (Hogstead) Wenstob, and was raised on the family farm, north of Strome, Alberta, where he resided for 70 years. Norman devoted his life to agriculture and had a special place in his heart for raising purebred Angus cattle. Norman registered his first purebred cattle in 1975 and was proud to have genetics that travelled to Mexico, Japan, Russia, China, the United States and all across Canada. Norman travelled and trimmed feet for many years and always thoroughly enjoyed the friendships that accompanied his work. He had been involved with local 4-H and was a long-standing Bruce Stampede Committee member. In 2020, the Wenstobs received their Century Farm Award as the original homestead has been in the family since 1905. Norman lived a fulfilling life, steeped in agriculture, and was proud to be part of such a rich history.

Most of all, Norman loved family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. He would often call to say hello, and especially loved afternoons spent touring the pastures, just he and the kids.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Norman's name to STARS Air Ambulance.

A Private Funeral Service will be at the Golden Valley Lutheran Church, Viking, Alberta , Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor
