Olive Pearl
Squair
May 19, 1928 — Mar 28, 2018
Olive Pearl Squair passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday March 28 2018 at the age of 89 in Sherwood Park.
Olive was born May 19, 1928 to Alvin and Mary Hewitt at Rimbey Alberta. Olive often told of the time in her early years when the gospel came to their home. She made her choice to walk with God at Salmon Arm convention when she was 14 years old.
Olive met her husband Albert Squair and they were married in March 1953 in Vancouver B.C. They moved to the farm in Viking Alberta in 1955 where they farmed north of Sedgwick.
Olive was a wonderful friend to many throughout her life and was known for her beautiful smile and cheerfulness. One of her most outstanding qualities was her love for her family. She was an incredible wife, mother and grandma.
It was obvious to those that knew her, that Olive loved their life on the farm. Her home was her sanctuary where she enjoyed sewing and quilting when she didn't have a houseful of friends, family and the highly anticipated visits of the workers. Albert and Olive always had an open door and an open home. They were wonderful elders to their little mtg. They loved what the gospel brought to them.
Olive will always be remembered for the time and energy she put into her garden. She loved her raspberries! Her energy and uplifting spirit helped her to be a very productive person both naturally and spiritually.
The time came when they were no longer able to enjoy their home and were moved to the Viking Lodge. Soon after they went to the extended care where Albert passed away on March 28 2015. There were three years exactly (almost to the hour) between their passings.
Olive leaves to mourn her family: Bonnie (Tom) Lawrence, Brian (Kathy) Squair, Lois(Woody) Kendrew, Carol(Blaine) Goodkey, Alan(Beth) Squair. 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren Olive is survived by her sister Audrey Squair, her brothers Vernon (Shirley) and Arnold (Hazel) Hewitt of BC sister in law Jean Goodsman of Saskatchewan. Olive is predeceased by her husband Albert Squair, brother Kenneth Hewitt and sister Doris McNaughton.
A Funeral Service will be at the Kinsella Community Centre, Kinsella, Alberta on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Darrel Turner and Valerie Colli officiating. Interment will be at God's Acre Cemetery, Kinsella, Alberta.
