Pharis Lorraine Petras, beloved wife of 56 years, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away in Edmonton on December 12, 2023, at the age of 77.

Pharis was born in Viking, Alberta, to parents Adolf and Stella. She married her best friend, Joseph, in 1967, and together, they raised their four children on their dairy and beef farm near Viking. Over the years, Pharis enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Pharis is lovingly remembered by her husband (Joseph); three sons, Barry (Wanda), Darrell (Karen), and Matthew, and one daughter, Stacey (Chris); eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Allan (Norma) and numerous nieces and nephews. Pharis was predeceased by her brother, Ronnie, in 1954; parents, Adolf and Stella; and sister-in-law, Karen Streit.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Heart of Mary, Roman Catholic Church, Viking, Alberta, with Father Jim Corrigan as the Celebrant. Committal will follow at the Viking Cemetery, Viking, Alberta. Please join the family for fellowship in the church hall after the committal.
