Obituary

Ping Gee Pon, 74, of Viking, Alberta passed away peacefully in his home on December 2, 2016.
Ping, a Phys. Ed teacher and coach for over 30 years, influenced the lives of many students. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was always a priority and he was always in attendance for birthdays or special events. He was known for his outgoing personality, amazing cleaning skills, bike riding around town and his great sense of humour and infectious grin.
Ping is survived by: his loving wife Norma, daughter Jenelle Kilshaw and her husband Steve of Calgary and their daughters Avery and Ella; son Shae Pon and his wife Jenn of Red Deer and their children Emersyn and Tate, niece Corlee Minnie and her husband Scott of Kitchener, Ontario, his father-in-law, Don Place and five brothers and four sisters and their families. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Jaime, his father Tung Man, his mother Tsui Kam, and his mother-in-law Madeline Place.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 9 at 2:00 pm in the Viking Community Hall, Viking, Alberta with Rev. Scott Reynolds and Rev. Carolyn Woodall officiating. Burial service to follow at the Viking Cemetery. Lunch will commence after the service at the Viking Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Viking School.
