Sylvia Isabell Shaw was born at Irma, Alberta March 25, 1934, the youngest daughter of Isabell and Eldon Fenton.

She enrolled in Licensed Practical Nurse training and graduated in 1952.

On May 20, 1954 she married Robert Shaw and they lived in Wainwright, Alberta until 1957, when they moved to a farm near Sedgewick, Alberta.

Sylvia worked on their farm as well as a LPN at the Killam Auxiliary Hospital.

Following Rob's stroke in 2009, Sylvia and Rob sold their farm and moved to their new home in Viking, Alberta.

Sylvia cared for Rob until his death on August 19, 2013.

In February, 2016 she moved to the Vialta Lodge in Viking.

She leaves her beautiful memories with her daughter Marliss (Terry) Magas of Kelowna, B.C.; her daughter Mavis (Dennis) Dalton of Wainwright, Alberta and her son Mark (Val) Shaw of Viking, Alberta.

She was blessed to have watched her two grandsons, Thomas (Tia) Magas of Calgary, Alberta and Matthew (Stephanie) Shaw of Mundare, Alberta, grow into fine young men and marry gorgeous, independent women.

She was privileged to have in her life, two granddaughters Brooke and Dayne Dalton.

A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held on Thursday March 16th at the Viking Legion from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

The family will hold a private inurnment at the Sedgewick Cemetery where Sylvia will once again join her husband Robert as well as her very special sister Eldred.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Sylvia Shaw's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Charity of our choice would be appreciated.
