Thomas George Mattinson

Thomas George Mattinson, of Camrose, Alberta passed away in St. Mary's hospital on January 2, 2021 at age 92 from complications of heart failure.

Tom was born October 28, 1928 to Jane and William Mattinson in Viking, Alberta.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline May Mattinson. Daughters and son-in-laws; Shannon Rose Marko (Chris), Melanie Jayne Kirk (Brad) and Angela Dawn Long(Mike). Grandchildren; Shaun Marko, Jennifer Herman, Brennon Kirk, Braedan Kirk, and Megan Kirk. Great Grand Daughters; Octavia Herman and Jaspyn Marko. Brothers; Bill (Joyce) Mattinson and John (Sharon) Mattinson.

Tom is predeceased by his father William Mattinson, his mother Jane Mattinson, his sister Rosemary Mattinson, his daughters Laureen and Maureen Mattinson, and Granddaughter Brittany Taylor.

Tom resided at and worked the family farm south of Viking until he and Pauline moved to Camrose in 2014. Side ventures included carpentry, horses, chinchilla ranching, and of course music. He and his brother Bill sang and played guitar at various lodges in Camrose and at Jaywalkers Jamboree up until the beginning of 2020.

He was also President of the Sedgewick Gas Coop for about 20 years. Tom was a lay minister, instrumental in community service and dedicated to his family and his faith.

A private service will be held but a memorial and life celebration for Tom will be announced at a future date.
