Vera Lillian Duckett was born in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England; coming to Alberta in 1948. In 1962, she married Clarence Tiedemann and moved out to the farm near Lindbrook, Alberta. Vera passed away peacefully, at her home in Tofield, Alberta, on Nov 22, 2020, at the age of 97.

Vera is survived by numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband (of 51 years), Clarence; by her parents: Horace and Sarah Duckett; by her sisters: Edith and Rene (Irene); and her brothers: Walter, George and Sidney. Vera was the last surviving member of her family, and of Clarence's. At 97 years, she was the longest-lived member of both families.

Vera was a lady of many talents; she enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and baking. She had a love of reading and exploring YouTube on the computer. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Vera loved her kitchen gadgets; she would try out the latest breadmaker, always trying to make the perfect loaf. On the farm she took pride in raising her roses; especially the yellow ones, always trying to stay ahead of the deer!

To respect her wishes, and because of COVID-19, there will not be a public celebration of her life at this time.
